La Rancheria Project
This project in the La Rancheria neighborhood of Carmel Valley includes a crushed gravel driveway, stone veneer retaining walls, a meandering flagstone pathway with Dymondia planted in the joints, landscape lights to mark the way, and swaths of meadow-like native plants and California companion garden varieties. This space was transformed from asphalt, railroad tracks, and river rock into mass groupings of native grasses, sweeps of Ceanothus and Manzanita ground covers, and a touch of yarrow, salvia, and California fuchsia. The beauty of blending textures and colors in this residential garden cannot be adequately expressed in words.
